I ended last year hell-bent on finishing a novel. I didn't.
I started maybe three different novels this year and six short stories. None of them are done except for one.
Even with at least a dozen unfinished works collecting figurative dust on my computer, I started yet another one. A very different one. An adult novel. When I say adult, I don't mean a steamy romance novel that you want to lock up when the kids are in the room. When I say adult, I mean it represents more of my adult life and my adult experiences moreso than my young adult, sci-fi, dystopian stories. I decided to make it short enough to finish within a reasonable amount of time, so I broke it up into three sections: October, November and December--which just so happen to be the months I worked on the bulk of my story.
Last year, I didn't quite accomplish the writing goals I set. This year will be different. By putting this release in stone, it will happen. It's got a cover, an ISBN, a beginning, a middle and an end. It's in its final stages of editing, and it will be available soon. Without further ado, I present to you my first adult novel, Auburndy.
Sean likes Lora. Lora likes Sean. Sean and Lora work with Darryn. Darryn is friends with Karina. Karina is Sean's wife.
Told from the point of view of the mistress, Auburndy is the hilariously witty story of love-like with blurred lines involving Chinese food, cookie crumbs, consequences and completely made-up adjectives.
Available March 16th, 2018.
Happy New Year!
